Meet Louise Emmarose
A Brief Biography
Louise, a twin, was born to Canadian parents in Paris, France.
Her Acadian father hails from Prince Edward Island; her mother
from Joliette, Quebec. Louise and her family led itinerant
lives, moving together with Mr. Gallant’s postings for
the Canadian government. When Louise was nine months the Gallants
left France to return to Canada. When she was five they relocated
to Belgium where Mr. Gallant took up work at the Canadian
Embassy and Louise started school and piano lessons.
Europe was a fascinating experience for everyone; and Louise
treasures fond and vivid memories of family trips to cities,
castles and lovely country places.
At
first she contemplated a career in marine biology; and studied
this for two years at the University of Moncton, New Brunswick.
Then a change more appropriate to her talents became clear:
she entered the Fine Arts program at the University of Ottawa.
After leaving college she started learning her new trade while
working in an art shop.
As a self-taught graphic artist, Louise soon owned and operated
a graphic arts business, which prospered for ten years. After
that she worked at various design positions in the commercial
market. When the computer and internet appeared, changing
both the publishing industry and global communications, she
discovered a new arena of work and personal expression. She
geared her graphic skills to web site development and found
her own business niche in it, which she works at still.
Running parallel to her traditional work life, Louise was
drawn to study Tai-Chi Chuan, Yang style and spent two years
teaching it.
Through all the twists and turns of her experiences, her
life as an artist never stopped; and over the years she produced
three exhibitions of her work.
She has created art works in with mixed media, airbrush,
watercolors, acrylic and digital work. She also explored wood
sculpting under the guidance of Lucie Lambert.
Her deep-seeking nature brought her to explore various ceremonial
practices, belief systems, philosophy and spirituality. She
practices daily meditation, Tai-Chi and yoga and she joins
with many others in different parts of the world who are dedicated
to creating better lives for All People, by any means possible.
